Before I get started, I want to acknowledge that this past year has been challenging for many.
However, in the famous words of En Vogue, “Free your mind & the rest will follow.”
In other words, the pathway to your higher self is paved with an open mind and the goal of unity.
2021 is a new year and a five year, plus we are now in the Age of Aquarius. The Age of Aquarius encourages new insight, resulting in a whole new perspective, so please take advantage of this special time.
Unity does not subscribe to who you voted for, your political party, if you are black, white, straight or gay. Now is the time to come together and get out of your lower self (ego), and look to something higher than you (your higher self). The only way to do this is to open your mind to the infinite possibilities of a blessed new road to unity.
Growing up in the North East, I was exposed to all religions, nationalities, religions and sexual orientations. Fortunately, I did not encounter a whole lot of racism. I can honestly say I am the only baby that was baptized in the Catholic Church that was blessed with two sets of God Parents. One set Catholic, the other Jewish.
Although, I empathize with many of my peers who had a much different experience with racism growing up in various parts of the US.
My upbringing in comparison was very open, eclectic, loving and free. There were no racial, religious or sexual divides.
In the 1970s, my father traveled to India quite often. He was raised Catholic by my grandparents who immigrated from Sicily at the turn of the century. However, while in India he adopted the traits and beliefs of the Buddhist religion.
Growing up, there were several Buddhist statues throughout my home. My father used to tell me (I was age five) to rub the Buddha’s belly three times and make a wish for good luck.
Back then my family was blessed with the gift of good luck and good fortune until my father fell ill at the age of 47.
As a result, my wonderful father was taken from me and passed away when I was just seven years old. He left a void in my life, and that of my brothers and sisters, that has never been filled.
Why am I telling you all this?
Just the other day I had an awakening of sorts that opened my mind, to a whole new world of techno color, where compassion, gratitude, tolerance, understanding, new perspective, equality and love prevail. Won’t you join me on this mind bending journey that opens your mind to your higher self?
In closing, I am hopeful that one day there will be no political divide, but instead a party that doesn’t divide, but unifies. No Republicans, no Democrats, only “unified” individuals allowed. True healing can only take place with unity. To reach unity we must get out of our ego (fear) and open our mind to the new possibilities ahead. An open mind is the pathway to the higher self.

Julie, Thank you for sharing your story. Unity is a struggle now in these times when people experience such disparities in reality. We must at least rise up to find unity within, even when others disagree with our points of view.
